Liner Notes
Thunderhole is a door flung open. Written as both invitation and refusal, the song welcomes anyone worn down by judgment, rules, or joyless certainty. It treats humor not as rebellion for its own sake, but as medicine — a way to reclaim what was taken and offer shelter without asking permission. If heaven has a sense of humor, this is where it comes to drink.
Lyrics
Intro — spoken word
“This is for all the weary travelers out there or for anyone who just feels lost.”
Verse 1
Walking the road as the sun fades away
Managed to make it through another day.
But if life’s taxing your joy and breaking your soul,
Come find solace at my place — Thunderhole.
Verse 2
“You can’t come in,” Saint Peter cried,
“I’m supposed to send you to be Kentucky Fried.”
I said, “God made my humor — so damn Him too.”
St. Peter gasped not knowing what to do.
[Pause — 2 seconds]
Spoken
If heaven frowns when I make fun,
Then why’d You make me the funny one?
[Pause — 2 seconds]
Final Chorus — building in intensity
We’re divinely dysfunctional
And cosmically rambunctional
’Cause that’s just how we roll —
Here at Thunderhole.
Where laughter soothes the weary soul,
Here at Thunderhole.
Where we take back what they stole,
Here at Thunderhole.
